About HARMONY Study, La Trobe University
The HARMONY Study aims to test whether culturally competent family violence (FV) training and yearlong support from a bilingual FV advocate improves primary care clinicians’ capacity to enquire and provide first-line support, safety planning and referral to culturally diverse women patients. HARMONY is being trialled in 20 general practice clinics with high South Asian immigrant populations in Melbourne. La Trobe University partnered with inTouch Multicultural Centre Against Family Violence to deliver culturally competent FV training. The feasibility and effectiveness of this intervention will be measured through process evaluations and outcome assessments.
