About Safer Families Centre

Who? A partnership between the University of Melbourne, Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, LaTrobe University and the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute. The team extends nationally and internationally and is co-directed by Professors Kelsey Hegarty, Cathy Humphreys and Stephanie Brown.

What? Aim to lead sustainable change in the health sector to facilitate early engagement with families about domestic abuse and family violence.

How? Through a partnership with survivors we research and collaborate to build innovative, sustainable programs and practical tools for health practitioners to identify the warning signs of domestic violence early, provide a first-line response and promote pathways to safety and healing.

Why? We want a future where health services support any member of a family affected by domestic violence.

On this page, the Safer Families Centre is featuring the REAL Transformation Model. Visit www.dvhealthtools.com for further information.
