Amy Mayes is the executive manager of the Redcliffe Area Youth Space. She has worked in the local community for over 15 years and passionately advocates the value of place-based services and early intervention. Amy’s extensive frontline experience has allowed her to develop intimate knowledge of a range of service systems and the challenges within them. This experience extends across youth services, child safety, education, justice, legal and health systems. The region that Amy has dedicated her working life to has the highest breaches per capita of domestic violence orders in the state. Currently, Amy is proactively advocating for improvements to the child safety system and supports available to young people and families. Her aim is to reduce offending behaviour and the deaths of young people and to slowly mitigate intergenerational trauma.
