Anya’s early work in Tasmania began in a role dedicated to person-centred change within a Hobart-based NGO in the area of disability and mental health. During 10 years in this position, she demonstrated how organisations can integrate and prioritise the value of lived experience in co-designing policy and service provision. Joining Advocates for Change in 2019 was a pivotal moment for Anya, bringing together the personal and professional threads of her life. The strength of the survivor-led program enabled her to sharpen her practice and develop her insight into the myriad ways in which working in partnership can create change. Anya currently works as a social worker in the area of family violence counselling. Her future includes a continued commitment to uncovering truthful, accessible and accountable ways to centralise the value of lived experience in service and legal systems.
