Val started with The Neighbourhood Hub in 2016 and currently works as a Safer Pathways for CALD Women program coordinator (ANROWS CALD Project in Action Research) and a community development officer. She was born in Latvia and completed her Bachelor of Education in Russia before spending some time in China and moving to Australia in 2013. She has a strong interest in domestic and family violence, mental health and community development and is currently completing her Masters of Social Work and Mental Health Practice with Griffith University. Being a migrant herself, Val is passionate about working with migrant women and supporting them to be safe and achieve their fullest potential.
